PhD scholarship at Macquarie Uni, Sydney in project 'Mindful Bodies in Action'

A full-time PhD Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship
(MQRES) is available in the Department of Cognitive Science or the
Department of Psychology at Macquarie University. The PhD project can
commence at any time between July and December 2013. Closing date for
applications: 26 April 2013.
This scholarship is associated with the Australian Research Council (ARC)
Discovery Project grant DP130100756 for 2013-2015 awarded to John Sutton
(Cognitive Science) and Doris McIlwain (Psychology) entitled ‘Mindful
Bodies in Action: a philosophical study of skilled movement’. A number of
potential PhD research topics are available within this project, depending
on the experience, skills, and interests of the best applicant.
Component strands of this project draw on philosophy of mind and action,
personality psychology, cognitive anthropology, sport science, and
cognitive neuroscience. Applicants should have either a first-class Honours
or a Masters degree in philosophy, psychology, anthropology, sport and
exercise science, human movement, cognitive science, or a related
discipline; and for scholarship holders, additional relevant research
experience and/or qualifications in line with the University's scholarship
rating guidelines.
