Deakin philosophy is pleased to call for applications for the position of Lecturer in Philosophy, with candidates from all specialisations of philosophical endeavour invited to consider the role. The position will commence mid-2014, with applications falling due October 27, 2013. Deakin Philosophy is presently at an exciting point of its development, and we are looking for a candidate whose principal accountabilities will include:
- Teaching in the area of philosophy at the undergraduate and postgraduate level that is consistent with the University's principles of teaching, learning and the student experience.
- Developing learning environments that are flexible, student-centred and accessible, utilising appropriate technology.
- undertaking research, publishing in leading journals, and applying for ARC and other grants.
- Contributing to building an active (national) research record, including publication and the generation of external research income.
- Participating with colleagues in developing and maintaining links and partnerships with industry and the wider community.
- Undertaking appropriate administrative tasks.
