UNSW Arts and Social Sciences is highly regarded, with staff recognised globally for excellence in teaching and research. The Faculty has a number of multi-disciplinary schools and research centres with strong external links and engagement with the community, as well as large enrolments of both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Two postdoctoral positions in philosophy or related discipline are available to contribute to the research program of the Practical Justice Initiative. One position is partly funded by an Australian Research Council Grant on ‘Egalitarian Approaches to Climate Justice’.

The positions have been created as part of the Practical Justice initiative in Arts & Social Sciences (Climate/Justice Stream), which has been funded through the University’s Strategic Priorities Fund.  During the 2-year fellowship, the Postdoctoral Research Fellows will be responsible for developing and undertaking new research projects in collaboration with Professor Jeremy Moss. Topics covered by the program include: ethical issues in resource use and renewable energy, models of how to distribute the burdens of climate change between and within nations, carbon budgets and energy ownership models as well as egalitarian discussions of climate change.
