SOCIAL EVENTS AAP RECEPTION Sunday, July 7th, 7:30pm - 9pm Building 67, Foyer UOW Northfields Campus After the Presidential Address, there will be a reception for all attendees. Drinks and food will be provided (including vegan and vegetarian dishes). BREWERY NIGHT Monday, July 8th is Brewery Night at the conference, with the three overlapping events at the Illawarra Brewery. The Illawarra Brewery Eastern Terrace, Win Entertainment Centre, Crown Street Brewery Event #1: Undergrad Mixer Illawarra Brewery Function Room (6pm - 8pm) All undergraduate philosophers are welcome to join UOW Philosophy Forum’s Undergrad Mixer, starting at 6pm. This will be a great opportunity for undergraduates attending the conference both from UOW and other universities to get to know each other and to discuss impressions from the first day of talks over drinks. Brewery Event #2: Drinks - Organised by the AAP Women's Committee Illawarra Brewery Wine Bar (7pm - 9pm) All conference participants who identify as women are welcome to join the AAP Women’s Committee for drinks and discussion at the Brewery’s Wine Bar, starting at 7pm. The Wine Bar is adjacent to the Brewery’s main bar area, and participants are free to come and go as they like. Brewery Event #3: Conference Meet-up and Trivia Night Illawarra Brewery Main Bar (7pm - late) All conference participants are welcome to meet at the Main bar area for drinks and conversation, starting at 7pm. A trivia competition will begin at 8pm. CAREERS FOR PHILOSOPHERS RECEPTION Wednesday, July 10th (6pm - 7pm) iAccelerate, UOW Innovation Campus After the Careers for Philosophers discussion panel at UOW’s iAccelerate facility, there will be an open reception for conference attendees and the facility’s resident start-up companies. This will be a chance to hear about some of the innovative projects being developed at iAccelerate and to discuss the role of philosophy outside of academia. CONFERENCE DINNER Thursday, July 11th (7pm - 10pm) 7pm-10pm The conference dinner is the concluding event for AAP 2019, held at LevelOne Harbourfront, overlooking Belmore Basin. |
