This page information about the following mailing lists:

AAP Members; Aphil-l; Philosophy Heads; SydPhil; AAP Victoria Bulletin

AAP Members

The AAP maintains a mailing list for members of the Australasian Association of Philosophy. This list is used to notify members of news of the Association, its members and their activities and to circulate information relevant to the profession as a whole.

Membership to the AAP is made via a subscription of Association's journal the Australasian Journal of Philosophy. Once your membership is processed you will automatically be added to the AAP members mailing list. Information on how to subscribe to the AJP and join the AAP is available here.

If you would like information regarding the AAP members' list please contact the Executive Officer of the Association Eliza Goddard.

Aphil-l

Aphil-l is an electronic mailing list for people working in philosophy and related disciplines in the Australasian region. The list is provided by the Philosophy Program, Research School of Social Sciences, ANU. It is a relatively low traffic list, containing mostly announcements. Any subscriber, however, can post to it.

To subscribe:

Send an email to majordomo@coombs.anu.edu.au containing just the text: subscribe aphil-l your e-mail address (with "your email address" replaced with your email address of course). Place this text in the 'body' of the email.

To unsubscribe:

Send an email to majordomo@coombs.anu.edu.au containing just the text: unsubscribe aphil-l your e-mail address

If you are subscribing someone else (or subscribing yourself on a different email address to the one you send the subscribe message from), your subscription will have to be checked by the aphil coordinator, which might take some time.

To contribute:

You must first become a list subscriber. In order to prevent "spamming" of the list, all messages from non-subscribers are trashed. Once you are a member, simply email your message to aphil-l@coombs.anu.edu.au

Trouble-shooting:

If you experience difficulties attempting to subscribe or unsubscribe, alter your message format to 'plain text' in your email preferences. Majordomo does not recognise email requests in 'rich text' format. Also, check that your subscribe or unsubscribe message is in the BODY of the email.

If you are experience problems posting to the list make sure your email doesn't contain attachments. Aphil-l does not accept attachments.

If you experience difficulties, not fixed by any of the above suggestions, please contact the list administrator Di Crosse at ANU - dicrosse at coombs.anu.edu.au
