AAP call for Spending Proposals in 2009
AAP Council invites spending proposals from AAP members under the following three categories: applications for AAP grants, proposals for spending by AAP Council, and proposals for AAP prizes.
Applications in any of the following three categories should be sent to the AAP’s Executive Officer, Eliza Goddard,by 30th November 2008.

Results of AAP Call for Spending Proposals
In response to the call for Spending Proposals above the AAP received 9 proposals, 5 of which were funded. Applciations were receievd in all three categories: applications for AAP grants, proposals for spending by AAP Council, and proposals for AAP prizes.
Successful proposals:
· Funding for a Sympoisum on the particpation of women in the philosophy profession, ANU, 10th August 2009. (ANU, Katrina Hutchinson)
· A subsidy to assist the publication of a volume of addresses on philosophy in Australian and New Zealand (Monash, Nick Trakakis).
· Additional funding for a research project on teaching and learning philosophy in Australasia. (Multi-institutional proposal from Flinders, Macquarie, UNSW and UTAS – Project Leader, Ian Ravenscroft)
· Development of an AAP conference website that can be re-used from year to year (2008 Conference Organisers, La Trobe University)
· Funding for a public event in connection with the 2009 postgraduate conference, Macquarie University, 15th April 2009. (Postgradaute Conference Organisers, ANU and Macquarie)
Whilst not all proposals were funded, Council was sympathetic to some of the suggestions in the unsuccessful applications. Council has convened a number of sub committees to further explore ideas and issues raised in the propsals.
